Mountain activities are full of excitement, but they also carry risks. Skiing trips require ski insurance with winter sports risk coverage.
Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia and Poland are popular countries for skiers with different infrastructure and requirements.
Skiers can expect from ski travel insurance:
Regular travel insurance does not cover health injuries and traumas incurred while skiing. In order for the insurance to be valid on ski slopes, it is necessary to mark the “Skiing” risk on the Man Ramu insurance platform while still in Lithuania.
When you are skiing, the risk of suffering an injury or injuring another person is greater than anywhere else. Even for an experienced skier, a moment of carelessness is enough – another athlete, an overtaking, an unexpected slip… In such cases, Third Party Liability (TPL) insurance becomes a necessary safeguard.
Third party liability insurance covers damages you unintentionally cause to other people – their health or property. This can include:
another skier was injured,
damaged or broken third-party equipment (e.g. skis, phone, glasses),
equipment accidentally boils over in a cafe, hotel or elevator.
If you do not have this insurance, all losses are covered out of your pocket.
People move at high speeds on ski slopes, and even a small collision can result in serious injury or significant losses due to damage to expensive equipment.
In some countries (e.g. Italy), TPL insurance is mandatory – without it, you will not be allowed on the track.
Elsewhere, it is strongly recommended, as civil claims for injuries can run into tens of thousands of euros.
1. Stop immediately and assess the situation.
2. Mark the scene of the accident (e.g. crossed skis).
3. Provide first aid as much as possible.
4. Call for emergency services – emergency numbers are often posted on the slopes.
5. Inform your insurer – Your travel insurance policy will provide you with all the contact details.
Purchasing insurance on the “Man ramu” Insurance platform is easy, but we understand that you may still have various questions.
