If you are involved in an accident, please follow these basic rules:
If people are injured, give first aid if possible, call for medical assistance – call 112.
Do not change the position of the vehicle, and try to preserve the details of the accident.
If necessary, call the police – call 112.

When filling in the paper accident report, take your time to draw a diagram of the accident, describe the circumstances of the accident, fill in the details of the vehicle, its operators, insurance documents and other information on the report after checking it carefully and clearly, and have all the people involved sign it. If you are injured, do not sign where the person responsible for the accident is required to do so. Fill in the same number of copies of the accident report as there are participants. Do not alter or change the completed and signed declaration. If you have the opportunity, take photographs of the scene of the accident, the damage to the vehicle and the registration number of the offender’s vehicle.
Once you have filled in the online accident declaration form at draudimoįvykiai.lt, the details of the accident are automatically passed on to the at-fault driver’s insurance company, so all you have to do is contact them for compensation.
After completing a paper accident report, notify the at-fault driver’s insurance company in writing within 3 working days of the accident and advise the at-fault driver to do the same. Provide the at-fault person’s insurance company with a declaration or other document signed by the parties involved in the accident about the circumstances of the accident.
If someone is injured or killed in the accident.
Property was damaged and the owner is not at the scene of the accident.
The person(s) involved in the accident is suspected of being drunk or under the influence of drugs.
When there is a disagreement about the circumstances of an accident.

The accident report must be completed under the following conditions:
There were no fatalities or injuries in the accident.
There are victims at the scene of the accident whose property has been damaged.
The driver is not suspected of being drunk or under the influence of drugs.
Only 2 vehicles were involved in the accident. The circumstances of the accident are agreed.

This is a much more convenient and easier way to declare an accident: the declaration is guided by a smart wizard, some of the data is uploaded automatically and all the data from the completed declaration is automatically transmitted to the at-fault party’s insurance company.
A paper accident report consists of two identical forms that copy each other, so it is not necessary to fill in the two forms separately when completing the report, but rather to fill in the first form for both parties involved in the accident, each with his or her own part. If you use a copy of this form, fill in the same number of sheets as the number of participants in the accident.

Please note that once you have completed and signed the paper declaration, you must not amend, change or add to it any information that has not been provided.
Stop immediately and mark the scene of the accident in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Road Traffic Regulations: activate the emergency lights on the vehicle and, if they are absent or inoperative, and if the stop is made in a place where other road users would see the vehicle less than 100 meters away, immediately erect an emergency stop sign on the same side of the carriageway, against the direction of travel of vehicles:

Stay at the scene of the accident.
Take all necessary measures to provide first aid to the injured, call for medical assistance and, if necessary, take the injured to a medical facility (unless this would endanger their life or health).
After the accident, do not consume alcoholic beverages, medicines, drugs or other intoxicating substances until you have undergone, or refused to undergo, a sobriety test or intoxication test.
It’s worth knowing that if the insurance company has compensated the victim for the damage you have caused, it may be able to claim back the amount it has paid if:
You have been drunk driving.
You were driving a vehicle that was not roadworthy.
You were driving without the right to drive.
You drove away from the scene of the accident.
You caused the damage intentionally.
If you have failed to comply with the obligations of the parties involved in the accident and other obligations laid down in the insurance contract, thereby increasing the damage through your own fault.
